Drew, 14, is an extremely talented, dedicated and personable multi-sport athlete (baseball, soccer and skiing) hailing from Mansfield. He has been training at Elite for the past year, during which time he’s participated in Elite’s Athlete Membership Program, the RBI Baseball Academy/Elite Next Level Program, and has trained one-on-one with Elite’s Master Trainer, Peter Rappoli, MS, CCS, CSCS for last four months. In addition, Drew also works closely with Coach Joe Breen at RBI Baseball Academy. Drew tells us, “Elite has improved my strength and speed drastically. The most rewarding part of training at Elite is seeing how much I’ve improved over such a short period of time.” As a short stop and pitcher on the diamond and a midfielder on the soccer field, Drew has experienced firsthand how his improved strength, speed, agility, and conditioning have resulted in improved performance in all of his sports.
All of Drew’s hard work has been paying off, as he was recently selected to play on the U14 USA Baseball New England Regional Team in Cary, North Carolina last month. In his own words, “My biggest accomplishment was making the NE Regional team for USA Baseball and then being given the opportunity to play baseball in North Carolina.” Last year, he was also selected to play in in the Cooperstown Tournament of Champions, where he was able to compete against more than 100 teams from all across the country.
Drew attends the Moses Brown School in Rhode Island and also enjoys skiing, reading, biking and swimming. He tells us his favorite athletes are Dustin Pedroia and Elvis Andrus and believes “mental toughness, a desire to compete, and staying in good shape” are characteristics that define an elite athlete. And to the younger athletes out there, Drew offers a few words of advice: “Practice as much as you can, and never stop working at what you want to become.” Elite couldn’t agree more, and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for our newest Athlete of the Month!
