The talented right-handed pitcher, Mike Connolly, 25, was drafted from the University of Maine in the 27th round by the San Francisco Giants in June 2013. Mike’s versatility as an athlete has allowed him to play multiple positions on the field throughout his career; from short stop in high school, to starting catcher in college, to pitcher as a professional. Mike became the first player in America East history to be awarded all-conference honors at two different positions. In high school, Mike was named ‘Old Colony League MVP’ during his senior year. Most recently, this past summer, he received the ‘South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week’ Award. He has been dedicated to his training at Elite with Master Trainer, Peter Rappoli, MS, CCS, CSCS, since returning home from this past season.
You will find Mike on the strength & conditioning floor almost every day of the week. Mike’s daily commitment, sometimes hours at a time, to his training and overall desire to improve his game has Elite’s younger athletes looking up to him. He constantly goes above and beyond (and then some) to cheer everyone on and is an inspiration to those around him. A mature, positive attitude and true sportsmanship are characteristics Elite believes to be important, and Mike certainly embodies these qualities.
His radiant energy towards his training has not only him excited, but the entire Elite team excited for his career with the San Francisco Giants. We’re excited to name Mike as our Athlete of the Month for December. We look forward to training you in preparation for the next season!
Congratulations Mike Connolly, Elite’s Newest Athlete of the Month for December 2016!
