Nicholas Woodruff, 18, from Attleboro, has recently committed to Michigan State University for the 2017 season. After spending his last four years playing center back with New England Revolution Academy & spending most of 2015 training with the NE Revolution professional team, Nick will continue to dominate on the soccer field and be an “ultimate competitor” at MSU. Woodruff was awarded the ‘Minute Man Player of the Year’ for the 2014 – 2015 season and was ranked in the top 150 soccer players in the country by collegesoccernews.com.
Woodruff has not only been training with NE Revolution teams, but here, at Elite Sports Performance and Physical Therapy in Foxboro the last few years. Nick’s commitment to his training sessions & work outs earned him this title; at times he was here twice a day! Because of Nick’s constant determination to work hard, he has seen tremendous improvements in his strength, speed, and power. Nick is most proud of his increase in lower body power – 17cm increase in long jump & 2in increase in vertical jump testing; both gained in less than six months. Nick sometimes stays after his workouts to mentor the younger athletes at Elite – an upbeat attitude and positive reinforcement pays off!
Woodruff believes there is always room to improve and is looking for steady progress, which is why he continues to train and push himself harder everyday! His competitiveness and passion to get better is what makes Nick stand out among the rest. Nick’s ultimate goal is to play professional soccer after his undergraduate at Michigan State. We look forward to cheering you on and seeing what the future holds for Elite’s newest Athlete of the Month! Congratulations Nick!
