Amanda Peck – February 2025 Athlete of the Month
Amanda Peck (“Pecky”), who turns 18 this month and hails from Foxborough, has been training at Elite Sports Performance & Physical Therapy in Foxboro since 2017. She was a 4-year starter on Bishop Feehan’s varsity girls soccer team, plays for NEFC, and will be continuing her athletic and academic career at the University of Miami this fall!
Amanda first came to Elite with the goal of becoming stronger and faster to improve her play on the field and achieve her ultimate goal of becoming a collegiate athlete. Over the years, Amanda has put in the hard work and become one of our most consistent and respected athletes, and her results show it! During her high school career, her team reached the Final 4 in the state tournament for all 4 years and they reached the state championship game the past two seasons. Amanda’s numerous awards speak for themselves and are a testament to her many achievements, both on the field and in the classroom. She has been named Catholic Conference League All-Star for 2022, 2023, and 2024, Sun Chronicle All-Star for 2023 and 2024, Boston Globe All- Scholastic in 2024, Eastern Mass First Team in 2023 and 2024, Eastern Mass All-State in 2024, and GA Regional AND National Talent ID in 2024. That is truly impressive, especially for a defender in one of the best programs in the state!
Amanda’s success in high school is largely due to her strong work ethic and consistent approach to her training. When asked what advice she would give to younger athletes, Amanda says, “hard work pays off and you aren’t doing this for nothing.” Some good advice that she would like to pass along that others have given to her is that “there is always someone better, so always give 100%.” It’s clear this advice has stuck with her as she never gives anything less than 100% and is always looking to better herself on the field and in the weight room.
Amanda tells us she enjoys training at Elite because she loves the welcoming environment and supportive community. She may have said
that her favorite part of Elite was working with Coach Katie, but she fears inflating Coach Katie’s ego like that! Katie and Amanda have been working together since 2017 and Katie has watched her grow up – both as a person and athlete – during that time. As Coach Katie observed, “You could see from the start that Amanda wanted it. She wanted to be in the weight room to become a better athlete. She wanted to put the extra work in to get to the next level. And she wanted to compete, always. Her work ethic is unmatched and to say I am proud of everything she has accomplished would be an understatement. She is one of a kind and is going to do big things in Miami!”
Through soccer, Amanda has learned how to be a strong teammate, how to be coachable, and how to be an effective leader. She is an outstanding role model for our younger athletes to look up to and we certainly have a few at Elite who admire her work ethic and achievements and want to follow in her footsteps! We are grateful to be part of her journey and are so excited to see what she does next at Miami! We are honored to name Amanda Peck our Elite Athlete of the Month for February, 2025! Congratulations, Pecky, and keep making us proud!
