Brayden Smith – May 2023 Athlete of the Month
Brayden Smith, 15, hails from Foxboro and is currently a freshman at Bishop Feehan High School. Brayden plays a variety of sports, including baseball, basketball, and soccer for the last 10 years and more recently has picked up ultimate frisbee as well. He began training at Elite Sports Performance – Foxboro back in November 2022, and works with Coach Katie and Coach James 3-4 days per week in Elite’s Strength and S.P.A.R. (Speed/Power/Agility/Reaction) sessions, sometimes both in the same day! Brayden has seen significant improvements not only physically, by becoming stronger and more agile, but also mentally as well. His confidence in himself and his ability is infectious and Brayden has become a great role model for Elite’s younger athletes. He also has noticed his speed, power and quickness have all improved, which stems from Brayden’s dedication to Elite’s S.P.A.R. sessions at least twice a week. Brayden is most proud of how much he has improved since starting to train, and all of the coaches at Elite are proud of him, too!
When asked what defines a true athlete, Brayden believes it is “someone who puts in maximal effort to get better,” which is exactly what he does every time he enters the gym. Brayden also says that to be the best athlete you need to be “smart, quick, stealthy, flexible, and strong.” Given his strong work ethic and dedication to his training, Brayden has quickly become a positive presence at Elite and a role model for many of Elite’s younger athletes. He challenges himself daily and is always striving to get better. Brayden’s advice for younger athletes is simple: “Put in your maximum effort and push yourself.” He also says that “if you are tired and sore, that means you put the work in.” Brayden is certainly no stranger to getting after it at Elite, and he’s seeing the results of his hard work and consistency! Check out some Brayden’s improvements in his vertical jump and sprint times below!
Brayden would highly recommend training at Elite, calling it a “great program” because it has helped him improve his athleticism and achieve his goals. He also enjoys the coaches and community atmosphere of Elite because of the supportive environment. Brayden enjoys mentoring the younger athletes and encouraging them to get after it, too. He hopes to continue his athletic career in college and study numerical analysis. Brayden is one of the hardest working athletes that we’ve trained at Elite and we are so proud of everything he has already accomplished. We look forward to seeing what is next to come for Brayden and know the possibilities are endless! Congratulations Brayden, Elite’s Athlete of the Month for May 2023! Keep up the great work!
