Eddie Correia, 16, hails from Taunton and attends Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical School where he plays catcher on the baseball team. He is also a member of the GBG Hawks, where he was nominated captain of his 15U team by his teammates and coaches. Eddie is one of the hardest working, most passionate, and enthusiastic athletes we have had the pleasure of training at Elite.

Eddie has been training at Elite Sports for over 4 years now and he said he continues to come back because he “couldn’t ask for a better group of people to train with. Elite has changed my life/sports career in ways I could never see.” Eddie also mentioned his favorite part of the atmosphere at Elite is “the constant push to get better. We have fun and share moments, but at the end of the day, we are all there to get better.”  Over the last 4 years, Eddie has seen great improvements in his sports performance. Check out his test results over the years. The numbers speak for themselves.

We have a saying at Elite that you’ll see on the back of our athlete’s and staff’s shirts: “Hard work beats talent when talent refuses to work hard.”  There is no athlete that exemplifies this statement than Eddie. He puts his head down and gets after it, knowing that he needs to work hard and put in the effort to be the best that he can be. He can often be found encouraging other athletes to do the same. Eddie loves having younger athletes around and explaining to them how hard work is the key to success on and off the field. He is always the first to give a high five or congratulatory cheer for the other athletes at Elite. When asked what advice he would give to younger athletes, Eddie says “No one is going to give you anything, you have to work harder everyday than you did the previous day.”

After high school, Eddie hopes to major in business in college and hopefully play ball at whichever college or university he attends. Elite is proud and excited to honor Eddie Correia as our Athlete of the Month for May, 2021! This award has been many years of hard work in the making and we could not be happier for Eddie. We look forward to hearing about all of his hard work at Elite paying off on the diamond in the months ahead. Congratulations, Eddie, and best of luck in your upcoming season!
