Jack Connolly – June ’17 Athlete of the Month
Elite Sports is proud to name Jack Connolly, 20, of Raynham, MA our Athlete of the Month for June 2017. Jack, a pitcher at the University of Notre Dame will be entering into his junior year in the fall. He has been a client at Elite since 2015 and has worked extensively with both trainer/owner Peter Rappoli, MS, CCS, CSCS, and physical therapist Ben Godin, PT, DPT, SCS over the past two years. During his athletic career, Jack has been named to the ESPN All-State baseball team, selected as an All-Scholastic Athlete in several area newspapers, and was a member of the 2013 MIAA Bridgewater-Raynham state championship baseball team. Despite these impressive accomplishments, Jack tells us his proudest accomplishment to date is playing baseball for the University of Notre Dame.
As for his time training and rehabbing at Elite, Jack tells us, “Elite has helped me increase my strength, reach my weight goals, and bounce back from a few injuries… The staff pushes you to get better, allows you to reach your limits, and makes you feel a part of a family.” When asked what qualities he feels encompass a true athlete, Jack keeps it simple: “Hard work, determination, and passion.” As for his favorite athlete, Jack gives the nod to his older brother (and former Elite Athlete of the Month!), Mike Connolly, who currently pitches in the San Francisco Giants organization and whom Jack calls “the best bro in the world.”
During the past few weeks, Jack has been at Elite every day, working with Ben to rehabilitate his pitching shoulder after a recent surgery and training with Pete to get back into peak condition prior to his return to the Fighting Irish in early June. Once back at school, Jack will continue preparing for his return to mound next season while pursuing his degree in Accounting. Strong work ethic, commitment to his craft, humility, and dedication to athletics and academics – Jack embodies all the qualities we appreciate in our athletes, and we pity the batters who have to step into the box against him next season! Congratulations, Jack, and best of luck in the year ahead!
