Maggie McCready – January 2025 Athlete of the Month
Maggie McCready, 19, of Canton, began training at Elite Sports Performance & Physical Therapy in Foxboro in the summer of 2023. Maggie is currently playing field hockey at St. Anselm’s College in New Hampshire. During her rookie season, Maggie was named to the NE-10 All Conference and the NE-10 All-Rookie Team. Maggie also helped her team complete the Cinderella story of a lifetime! As an 8-seed heading into the D-II NCAA Tournament, the St. A’s Hawks found their glass slipper in overtime of the national championship game! In a thrilling 1-0 win, Maggie and the rest of the St. Anselm’s Hawks became the 2024 D-II NCAA FIELD HOCKEY NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!
Maggie was also no stranger to success at the high school level. A field hockey and lacrosse standout for the Canton Bulldogs, she earned Hockomock All-Star and Hockomock First Team awards for her efforts on the field. Maggie tells us she defines a true athlete as “driven and committed” and she has certainly lived up to her definition!
Maggie first arrived at Elite with the goal of getting stronger and continues to strive towards that same goal. She chose Elite for the sport-specific, personalized training program and the small coach-to-athlete ratio to ensure she was getting the attention she needed. Maggie continues to train at Elite because she loves the atmosphere and coaching. Working with Coach Katie McCarthy, CSCS, she continues to make gains and benefit from the programming and environment created at Elite.
Maggie tells us enjoys training at Elite because she loves the sense of community here and enjoys being able to have fun but still get after it. She also loves being able to train with friends and has set the bar high for many of Elite’s younger athletes by demonstrating the level of dedication and commitment it takes to become a collegiate athlete. When asked what advice she would give younger athletes, Maggie says, “practice the little things.” Great advice for all young athletes! As for herself, Maggie loves that sports have given her lifelong friends! She looks forward to her training sessions at Elite, not only because she enjoys the coaches and the structure of her program, but because she knows she will be challenged every time she comes in and is excited to see the results of her hard work!
Elite is honored to announce Maggie McCready as the Athlete of the Month for January, 2025! We are grateful to be part of your journey and are so excited to continue to watch you excel at Saint Anselm College! Congratulations, Maggie, we are so proud of you!
